| Devotionals - c) Day 3 True Love | | Matthew 22:37-40 (New Living Translation)
37) Jesus replied, "`You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind. 38) This is the first and greatest commandment. 39) A second is equally important: `Love your neighbor as yourself.' 40) All the other commandments and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments."
True love is first to God - this love for God will overflow into your love for your neighbour, who is your fellowman both near and far.
Love for God is expressed through our obedience to His commandments, as outlined by Him in His word and through our love for each other, as expressed through our actions towards our neighbours, both locally and globally.
If there is no love for the people you can see, then there can be no love for God whom you cannot see.
If you believe other wise, you have been deceived and it is now time to begin to walk in the truth of the love of God as outlined by Him in His word.
According to Jesus, there are two categories of people – the ones that love Him and keep His words and those who don’t love Him and don’t keep His words. (John 14: 23-24)
In which category are you?
