| Devotionals - d) Day 4 Where is Your Allegiance? | | Romans 6:16 (Amplified Bible)
Do you not know that if you continually surrender yourselves to anyone to do his will, you are the slaves of him whom you obey, whether that be to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience which leads to righteousness (right doing and right standing with God)?
You are the only person who truly knows where your allegiance lies – whether to God or to Satan.
If you find yourself always doing things that are contrary to the will of God, as outlined by Him in His word, you need to examine yourself to see if you are truly in the faith (2nd Corinthians 13: 5)
We are told in Matthew 7: 16-23 that a tree is known by its fruit. In other words, we know the children of God by the kind of spiritual fruit that they bear.
The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness and temperance (Galatians 5: 22-23).
Any fruit that opposes the fruit listed above are the works of the flesh. (Galatians 5: 19-21)
Where is your allegiance? Does the fruit that you bear show your allegiance to God or does it show your allegiance to Satan?
You be the judge.
