| Devotionals - v) Day 22 New Creation in Christ | | 2nd Corinthians 5: 17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new.
Before Saul began to walk in God’s purpose for his life he did everything in his power to bring destruction to the lives of any and everyone who named the name of Christ as their personal Lord and Saviour.
He was probably the greatest persecutor of the church in his day. He was such a terror that even after he repented and accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour, the people were still afraid of him – they still saw him as he used to be instead of who he had now become in Christ. Once they accepted him as he now was in Christ they were able to share in the wisdom, knowledge and understanding that God had imparted to him.
Many of us are like the people of Paul’s day. Instead of seeing people as they are in Christ, we see them as they used to be before they accepted Him as their personal Saviour. As a result, instead of building them up in their most holy faith in Jesus, we destroy their faith by keeping them as prisoners of their past.
Remember that all who are in Christ are new creatures and should be given an opportunity by their fellow brothers and sisters in the Lord to leave who they were in the past and be allowed to grow into who they are now in Christ. That is the least that we can do for each other.
(Saul changed from being the greatest persecuter of Christians to Paul, the greatest promoter of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Read about his life in the book of Acts)
