The word gospel means good news and whenever anyone has good news to share, they present it in such away that it is understood by all.

When the angel told Mary the good news that she would have a son who would be the Saviour of the world, he delivered the message in a simple and clear manner, answering any questions she had in the same way.

When Jesus lived and moved among the people, the simplicity of His lifestyle was so ordinary and peaceful that at times people were drawn to Him without Him ever saying a word. When He did preach the Good News of salvation to the masses, everyone understood the message and the choice they made - whether good or bad - was an educated choice.

Are we as Christians today - whatever our role may be in sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ - able to say that like Christ our Saviour, we are impacting the lives of the people we come in contact with everyday by the simplicity of our lifestyle or are we doing the opposite by contributing to their decision not to become a part of the family of God.

Simplicity is not poverty - it is an attitude that we have toward God, others and ourselves. We are to love the Lord our God with all our heart, mind and soul and love our neighbour as we love ourselves. This is the attitude that Christ demonstrated to us and we need to demonstrate to each other as a means of encouraging others to accept Him as their personal Lord and Saviour.

 If the message that your life is delivering isn’t impacting those around you in the right way, check the message that you are sending – maybe the simplicity of the Gospel is missing.
