| Devotionals - z8) Day 34 The Treasure | | God uses ordinary people to do extraordinary things in order to show that the excellence or the superiority of the power is of Him and not of us.
2nd Corinthians 4:7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the 2xcellency of the power may be of God and not of us.
When David stood against Goliath, to the natural eye, he appeared to be doomed for death. What the people didn’t realize was that he had hidden within him, the treasure from on high and the excellence of the power that he displayed in destroying Goliath was not of him - it was the extraordinary power of God.
When the Philistines got together to offer a great sacrifice unto Dagon their god, they thought that bringing Samson up from his prison cell and making fun of him would be the icing on the cake for their festivities.
To the natural eye, he appeared to be a broken man but what the Philistines didn’t realize was that he had hidden within him, the treasure from on high – he was a man empowered by the extraordinary power of God. That day, the number of the dead at the hands of Samson, was too numerous to count.
As children of God, it is up to us to daily live according to the word of God so that at the opportune time, we will not shrink away from adversity, but will instead, face it with confidence, knowing that we have the treasure within us and the excellency of the power to overcome is not of us but is of God.
