Read 2nd John 2: 7 to discover who is a deceiver and an antichrist.

DECEIVER (Webster)
One who deceives - makes a person believe what is not true; one who leads into error; a cheat; an impostor.

It is important to know for yourself what the Bible says about Christ as opposed to what people say about Christ because a lot of people teach what they have heard and not what they have studied in the word of God.

Read 2nd John 4-11

1) We are to walk in truth. Where is this truth found? In the word of God.

John 17: 17 (Jesus is speaking)

Sanctify them through thy word, Thy word is truth.

2) We are to love one another.

How are we to love one another? By living according to the commandments of God which are summed up in these two commandments found in Matthew 22: 37-40. We are to love the Lord God with all our mind, body and soul and our neighbour as ourselves.

Anyone who does not love God by living according to the truth of God as outlined in His word, but still say that they are of God is really anti - Christ or anti-God. This means that they are living against or opposite to the will or teachings of God. The sad part about all of this is that they don't even realize that they are not only deceiving others, they are also deceiving themselves.

I too was deceived before but thank God the truth of the word of God delivered me from that deception.

My favourite verse of scripture is found in 2nd Timnothy 2: 15.

STUDY TO SHOW THYSELF APPROVED UNTO GOD, A WORKMAN THAT NEEDETH NOT TO BE ASHAMED, RIGHTLY DIVIDING THE WORD OF TRUTH.
